Violet, the owner of Hourglass Vintage, knows the history behind the pieces in her store. The vintage pieces all have a story to tell- and Violet is only too happy to listen. Violet, though, has a past that she is not sure how to move on from. She’s moved away- and yet, still feels tied to her past. Continue reading

Truth Be Told

It’s a day in the life of Jane Ryland. Siting outside of a family home, looking for details for a story on foreclosed homes. What should just be a run of the mill ordinary day- a day where Jane gets a few photos, some video, and another sad story to add to her overall piece of foreclosed homes suddenly gets a lot more interesting. What made it more interesting? Continue reading

Getting Even

Orianna and Ivy- best friends and work partners. They are a creative team at Green- putting together ads, coming up with copy, and just wowing folks with their creative efforts. For both gals, life is pretty good at work- and they are reaping the rewards of their partnership.

Orianna is the sweet and naive part of the duo, while Ivy is the brass, take no crap one. But like chocolate and wine- they complement each other.

And then………….. Continue reading

The silent sister readalong

Hey, hey, hey! “I’m Almost 29 And Can’t Read RL Stine!”: Guest Post Confession from Wesley @ Library Educated

“I’m Almost 29 and Can’t Read RL Stine: A Confession”

I am a total scaredy cat. I always have been; which means that RL Stine’s “Goosebumps” series were not my cup of tea as a kid, or as an adult!

However, one day if I get really brave these are the 5 “Goosebumps” books I would read!

I feel like I could handle this one because I have never seen anything scary under any of my sinks. I mean, the only thing under my kitchen sink is a lot of cleaning products and those aren’t dangerous unless you drink them or rub them in your eyes. (Do NOT drink them or rub them in your eyes). Spook-Tacular October hosted by Traveling With T & Wesley at Library Educated

Spook Tacular October

Ya’ll- it’s a great time of the year! The leaves are turning, the weather is getting a bit of a nip in the air (well, kind of where I live) and the stores are filled with Halloween candy (mmmmm… candy pumpkins!) I was talking with Wesley from Library Educated way back months ago and mentioned that I had a sort of idea for the month of October- a spook-tacular idea (get ready- spook-tacular is the word of October!) So, I chatted with Wesley through email, and somehow managed to make this idea- that wasn’t even fully formed- clear enough for Wesley to hit the ground running- and producing 3 spooky-riffic guest posts. Then, partly because of a recent #BSCReadalong (yay for nostalgia reading!) and partly because I’ve been digging out RL Stine books for the 90’s Nostalgia Fright Fest hosted by Charleen @ Cheap Thrills (and oh yeah- partly because I met RL STINE this year- and totally fan-girled like my pre-teen self would have!) I decided to give RL Stine some major spook-tacular love during Spook-Tacular October! What is on the agenda for Spook-Tacular October? Right this way folks- just watch out for the zombies, skeletons, and the other creepy stuff that you might come across……………………….. Continue reading
