What I adore almost as much as winning giveaways is letting you, my faithful readers of Traveling With T, know about the amazing giveaways that other sites are having. I know that while I scour the websites, looking high, low and everywhere in between- that there are probably still hundreds upon hundreds I miss mentioning. But I’m trying!

Molly Greene posted an article that Anne Chaconas wrote about 5 Mistakes Authors Make When Approaching Book Bloggers. After reading the article, I just have to say that Anne was spot-on.

Being still a relative newbie- I’ve only been blogging for almost 2 years- I’ve been lucky. I’ve managed to get into some great groups of bloggers, and on to a couple of publishers list. Since, though, I started accepting review inquiries from outside those avenues- I’ve had review requests that were fantastic and some that I could tell were mass-emailed. Most people do personalize their request- and I appreciate that. I’ve not really run into many authors who are making the mistakes that Anne is talking about- but, I encourage people to read this article.

Bloggers- what do you think? Are there mistakes that authors make that harm the blogger/author relationship?

And now- after reading, here’s my book hoarder confession: I love books. I LOVE bargain books. I love going to the store and seeing all the books- laying there all pretty, just waiting to go to lovely homes. I’ve even been known to buy multiple copies of the same book (I’m looking at you Hunger Games- I have it in movie cover paperback, hardback, and Collector’s edition (plus the Kindle version!)

So confess, book hoarders, confess- don’t let my Hunger Games shamefaced moment stand out here alone!

It’s been a lovely few days off due to the 4th of July (although my blog was still having things posted!) I read, ate homemade ice-cream, and visited with family. And thought of how, next 4th of July, I’ll be an aunt- and have a baby niece or nephew to take patriotic pictures of!
