Winter Survival Shout-Outs
So, I live in the South. And you know- we do get cold weather here- but not cold like up North. Like I tweeted one day about how cold it was- it was here- it was around 25 degrees- and my friend Wesley H (of the way up North area) tweeted back and said “That’s cute that you think 25 degrees is really cold.” So you know.. perspective. But again- I live in the South. I shouldn’t have to deal with colllllllllld weather, chapped hands, etc.
Here’s what makes my winter more bearable:
1. Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Intensive Hand Cream: I’m pretty much not allowed to watch QVC (I only sneak a peek every once in awhile!) I saw Josie Maran talking about argan oil and I decided to treat myself the next time I was at Sephora. My hands now feel like butter and I’m having less and less of cracked hands, etc.
2. Lotion. I go through lotion like crazy in the winter. I moisturize in the morning and before bed. Top faves: Bath and Body Works and Philosophy lotions.
3. Lip gloss. I buy so many over the year- I like Burt’s Bees the best!
4. Face oil. In the spring and summer- my face is pretty hydrated ( the humidity helps a lot) But as the humidity dips and I find myself dealing with cold weather and heaters- my cheeks begin to get tight. The Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Oil helps my skin and when the weather takes a turn for the worst (or I know I’m going to be in places where the indoor heaters are kicked up high) I add Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Base– it soothes my cheeks and the green tint hides the redness when I’m chapped/dry.
5. Cozy blankets, hot chocolate, and a good book or movie. When I’m tired of dealing with the outside- the fleecey coats giving me static electricity- I schedule a lazy day. I curl up with a good warm blanket, I keep my plush houseshoes near by, and the hot chcolate coming. Books, movies, and snacks are consumed.
