Hello! Welcome to another day of #AMonthOfFaves! I hope you are enjoying the event that Andi @ Estella’s Revenge is co-hosting and that Tanya @ Girlxoxo created!
Today’s topic:
5 Fave “New to Me” Author Discoveries This Year #AMonthofFaves
Hmmm…. new to me authors for 2015- let me think! I may not can come up with 5, but I’m going to give it a try!
(runs off to check my trusty Goodreads list and my Erin Condren planner)
I’m back ( did I come up with 5? We’ll see!)
5 New to Me Author Discoveries for 2015
1. Karin Slaughter. Sure, I’ve heard of Karin. Most folks spent of her name in an excited way when a new book of hers comes out. But she’s been an author that has slipped through my fingers numerous times. I’ve thought about reading books by her- but until PRETTY GIRLS I had not made that happen. And now, when I’m in the mood for a dark and twisted book- I have an author to check out!
2. Lisa Scottoline. Where have you been my reading life? Seriously. EVERY FIFTEEN MINUTES just entertained me in the best possible way and now I want to devour your backlist like a kid loves a candy bar.
3. Gretchen Archer. Creator of Davis Way– a series that combines some of my favorite things: casinos, the South, zany capers, and one-liners. Gretchen can’t write fast enough to keep me satisfied!
4. Lisa Jewell. Apparently I’ve been living under a rock. Lisa Jewell is fabulous and I can’t believe that it took me as long as it did to discover her! THE THIRD WIFE is a book that I recommend to many people!
5. Barbara Delinsky. Again, what rock have I been hiding under? Now, while I’ve heard BLUEPRINTS was not as strong as her previous work from other people- for my introduction- it was pretty good. I’m eager to check out that backlist!

Both Jewell and Delinsky were new to me in the past few years. I would definitely read them again!
Oh yay!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂
I haven’t read any of these, but Lisa Scottoline looks intriguing!
I think you would enjoy that Lisa book!
I loved Lisa Jewel’s book, THE HOUSE WE GREW UP IN. I never did get a chance to read THE THIRD WIFE.
I always enjoy Lisa Scottoline’s books.
And…Barbara Delinsky has wonderful books.
I need to check out the other authors you mentioned.
ENJOY your day!!

I know everyone loved The House We Grew Up In- but something just didn’t appeal to me about the summary of that book. I may give it a try, tho!
I’ll def check out out more of Lisa and Barbara’s books!
It had a few weird things in it, but I liked it.
I’ll be honest that I like earlier Scottoline when she was writing legal thrillers in a series about a Philadelphia law. She still writes those, although the last few I didn’t enjoy because I thought there was too much romance and in my opinion, at least with the legal thrillers, she was a better writer when she first started than she is now.
OOh gotcha. So, this one (Every Fifteen Minutes) is a stand-alone (although there might be some cross over characters that I’m unaware of- she does have a male Philadelphia lawyer in this book. )
I really liked this book- and loved the audio of it!
Great list! My authors are also “new to me.”
Thank you! I was surprised to come up with 5 new to me authors! *runs off to check out your list*
I read The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell and it was one of my favorites last year. I have The Third Wife but haven’t read it yet. Every Fifteen Minutes was very good although not my first Scottoline book. My favorite new to me author of 2015? Gah…….Beatriz Williams……love love love everything I’ve read!
LOVE BEATRIZ. Enough said.
It’s been ages since I read Barbara Delinski and really need to get reacquainted with her!
I got Sweet Salty Air (I think that’s the title!) for a b-day gift!
I still haven’t read any Karen Slaughter, another one for my 2016 list!
Oh yay! That sounds like a plan!
Gretchen Archer’s Davis Way Crime Caper series is one of my all-time favorite series that I discovered when book 1 was being published. These books have it all–mystery-adventure-humor-and many times laugh-out-loud variety of humor, along with poignant messages that intertwine with the stories. For anyone who likes gambling, this will be the perfect series for you, for those who like humor, this is for you as well, and for mystery lovers, it is everything mixed into a very unique blend of who done it with lots of plot twists making you guess the ending all the way to the last page. I believe that the next book, Double Knot, is being released on April 12, 2016 so if you want to get caught up on the previous books in the series, you have time to get them read.
I was delighted to see one of my very favorite authors name listed on your top 5 list of new writers
This is the perfect time to add some or all of these books to a shopping list for yourself or for you favorite reader friends.
Great choices of new author’s to you, T.
Happy Holidays to everyone.

Davis Way is a scream! Love her! I’m on pins and needles awaiting the new book!
I love Barbara Delinksky novels! I recommend reading “Not my Daughter and “The Secret Between Us” if you haven’t read them yet. 🙂
Thank you for the suggestions!!!! I’ll check them out!
You’re very welcome! 🙂
Really! You’re just now discovering Barbara Delinsky? I don’t know whether I should laugh or cry so I’ll just say welcome.
Yes! *hangs head in shame*
