Our Stop
Summary: Nadia gets the 7.30 train every morning without fail. Well, except if she oversleeps or wakes up at her friend Emma’s after too much wine.
Daniel really does get the 7.30 train every morning, which is easy because he hasn’t been able to sleep properly since his dad died.
One morning, Nadia’s eye catches sight of a post in the daily paper:
To the cute girl with the coffee stains on her dress. I’m the guy who’s always standing near the doors… Drink sometime?
So begins a not-quite-romance of near-misses, true love, and the power of the written word.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
So, when this book was pitched to me- I was immediately drawn by the back cover (I enjoy a good meet-cute story) and the One Day in December vibe I was picking up.
But….
Overall, this book missed the mark with me. And I think it’s because I’m not in the target audience’s age range. I still love a good meet cute story and I’m pretty much a fan of the HEA- BUT…. I think I’ve crossed over that line where I can truly relate to some (maybe even most) 20-somethings (at least literary 20-somethings.)
What I liked:
The cover is VERY cute and def caught my eye.
How the story is set up- I do enjoy a good meet cute and how adorably meet cute is it for someone to place an ad asking you to meet for a drink?
The ending. I really liked that.
Bottom line: While there was a lot of things in it’s favor- things that should have been ringing and dinging all my literary bells- it wound up being just ok for me.
