#AMonthOfFaves: Moments of 2022

Kim and Tanya at GirlXOXO are back with their #AMonthOf Faves December schedule and while I probably won’t post for all the prompts- 2022 was a big year for me so I gotta share some of the highlights.

2022 had some highs (getting engaged and picking out my dress!) and some lows ( getting caught up in a reduction in force money saving plan at my job at the hospital) which then led to a better job (Director of Communications at the local church!)

So in no particular order, here’s a photographic recap of 2022 (with some explanations of what’s happening in the pictures 🙂

Road-tripping through the MS Delta. As part of my job, I did some road-tripping through the Delta. I always made sure to get a picture with the catfish when I visited Belzoni, MS (catfish capital of the world)

The Sweet Potato Queen Weekend. After 2 years of NOT having it, seeing my friends was like the BEST thing ever. And as you can tell, zero fun was had.

Meeting up with real-life MS Bookstagrammers. We’ve only been able to meet once, but I’ve really enjoyed talking on the ‘gram with these ladies. And it was SO lovely being able to share some book wealth with them.

Road-trip to Biloxi with my mom for her work conference. Honestly, this trip was very up in the air because of multiple things happening and then all of a sudden I was going and it was JUST what I needed. Spending time with my mom, getting a massage, eating crawfish (did you see the size of that crawfish?!) and reading by the pool was just what the dr ordered!

Bookmail! While physical bookmail was less plentiful than other years, it was still a part of the year (and this is just some of the physical bookmail!)

Work conference in Nashville for Church Communicators. I learned a lot and made some connections at the conference. I also sneaked in some fun in Nashville (anyone ever been duck pin bowling? SO fun!)

Our first baseball game 🙂 And we got our picture on the big board at the game because I tweeted about us being at the game 🙂

One of my first purchases for my new home next year- because after 5.6.23, I’ll be a WIFE.

The man knows I love this kind of stuff and he just rolls with it 🙂

Getting engaged. August 4, 2022! I love that it was a total surprise. I love that he asked my parents if he could marry me. I love that he picked the beach to pop the question. I love that I teared up when he asked me. I love that a family nearby realized what was going on and cheered when I said “YES!” and ran over to snap a photo of us. I love that you can still see the sand on his knee. But most of all, I love this man.

I met this girl when I was in kindergarten and our friendship pretty much started day 1 of kindergarten and it’s essentially been going on since then!

Picking my dress! I went dress shopping at 3 different places and I found dresses at each place that I really loved. But one- well Instagram friends really spoke out about- and the more I looked at it- the more I liked it. So, I said yes to the dress at Amelia Grace Bridal in Greenwood, MS.

My birthday. Listen, I’m just a big ole birthday nut. And now I’ve found someone who loves celebrating my birthday!

Our engagement photos. I’ve always wanted to take pictures in cotton and when I saw a local photographer offering mini cotton sessions- well I booked them for our engagement photos!

Christmas decorating and riding around looking at lights! 🙂

Well folks, this was a major part of my 2022 year! Can’t wait to see your moments from 2022!

*Which of my 2022 moments did you LOVE the most?*

Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,

  1. Congrats on your engagement. My fav pics are between the one with the sand still on his knee and the cotton ones. What a good year. I hope next year is even better!
