#AMonthofFaves 2019: This Is How We Holiday Edition

Fri-yay is here! Are you LOVING #AMonthofFaves? Have you checked out to see how Girlxoxo holidays in 2019?

Today’s prompt:

FRI. Dec. 20 – #AMonthofFaves This is How We Holiday – Rep your home’s holiday look, share pictures of your holiday decorations. Christmas tree, your favorite holiday traditions, holiday festivities, favorite ornaments, places to go, holiday drinks, holiday eats, holiday themed reads.

I was just re-reading How We Holiday 2018 post and if I thought last year was crazy- well this year is CRAZY with a cherry on top.

I have managed to get the tree up and decorated this year- read about that here.  You can also see a few of my fave ornaments- including the major award one 😉

But after the tree was put up- the month went to heck in a handbasket. Running the roads for birthday parties, dance recitals, visiting doctors and a SIL having surgery has made this a hard month. And given me a strong desire to hide under a blanket fort.

I had a doctor visit and some blood work done- and discovered that my A1C was pretty high- so I’m navigating the land of low carb foods and no sweets to get my A1C down. #ItsBeen9DaysSinceIveHadSweetsorMtDew

That was stressful enough as the counting carbs has taxed my not so great at math brain enough- but my SIL has had her own set of health issues this month- so it’s all hands on deck to help with the girls. And still make sure they have a great Christmas. The rest of us will just celebrate that 2019 is darn near over.

I have taken some time to take some pictures with the tree 🙂

And this poinsettia tree is still making me ❤

A Seasonal read that I hope to get to before 2019 ends:

And the Christmas music has been playing since NOVEMBER when the Holly channel came on my radio! I’m  LOVING Up On The Housetop by Pentatonix.

As far as family Christmas pictures this year- if I can get some with the little girls- that’ll be cool. It’s been a rough 2 weeks and Christmas has been put on hold till we can all get semi-better to feeling fine. Us adults have been hit hard in 2019 and I just want the girls to have a great Christmas.

In semi-related news- I almost ruined Christmas by picking up that damn Elf on the Shelf.

My story:

Today I committed the ultimate sin in the Elf on the Shelf world. I reached to pick up Pixie from her hiding place to let the girls play with her. Alexa informed me that it was very likely that Pixie has lost it’s magic. So I played Christmas music for Pixie & told the girls to not worry- Pixie would be in a new location tomorrow. Pixie has now moved behind the blinds to peek out at the girls- and all I have to say about Elf on the Shelf is that if I had any more encounters with the rules of living with the Elf- I might need a large glass of wine. Nightly.
#letthemagicstayinPixie

Pleased to report that Pixie has retained her magic- or else one day Alexa would write a book about her bad aunt and how she ruined Christmas by picking up Pixie.

If you believe in the goooooooood vibes- send some my way- or wine. I’m not picky! 😉

I hope everyone is doing better. Also, if you’re the blogger who introduced me to RaeAnne Thayne this month of faves — THANK YOU!!! I’ve read three of her books since Christmas Eve. And the only reason I stopped is because I can’t get any more from my library! Hahaha!!!
