Literary Friday, ya’ll…..

 

It’s been a week. Trying to get things planned for Book Expo. Getting blog posts planned. Getting the pool ready.

My mom’s a week post-surgery. Last Friday was a tiring day and we won’t know anything official for several more days- but she seems to be feeling fairly good- so yay for that! (Keep sending good vibes!)

2. Some bookmail. New Haircut. New mani.

New haircut 💇. New manicure 💅🏼. New bookmail. #partner @williammorrowbooks @megmitchellmoore . . After yesterday’s semi- meltdown on Instagram, I’m feeling a bit better. Less overwhelmed. Will my schedule for Book Expo be as organized as previous years? Probably not. Will I miss out on some must have galleys? It’s possible. Will I have fun seeing my old friends & making new ones at Book Expo? Def! ( If you are going to Expo, let a girl know!) . . As far as my mom, she seems to be doing really good & while we won’t know for sure till pathology reports are in, I’m cautiously optimistic about her prognosis. 3. I’m in a reading slump. I recently finished The Big Kahuna by Janet Evanovich and Peter Evanovich and normally I love Nick and Kate’s shenanigans, but this book was very “meh”.

So today ( and if I’m honest) the past few days have been trying. Too much to do. Too much I want to do. Being ‘ma’am-ed’ by the kinda cute FedEx guy ( seriously, I think he’s my age.) Some heel pain from walking a hundred miles ( not really but it felt like it over past few days). My mom’s surgery. Handling phone calls checking on her. Making plans for follow up visits. Getting the pool ready. Trying to get a Book Expo schedule typed up ( working on it @thoughtsfromapage!!) Planning for Book Expo fun & other fun to do in NYC ( please, please let me find time to see Frozen and eat ice cream, crab cakes & this chicken sandwich that is slap your mama good). . . And then this arrived. And while it did not help everything- it did brighten my mood. Thanks @williammorrowbooks for the cheer! #partner . . #genxbookstagrammers

    I’ll be at Book Expo, to. I met you last year (somewhere there’s a picture of us together). Would love to meet up with you again. I haven’t seen anything yet about galleys being given away and need this weekend to get myself organized. I’ll take any tips you have on what to pick up while I am there.

    • Tina, I am SO sorry that I am just now seeing this. And sorry that we didn’t get to meet up. And no tips. And no pictures!!!!!!

      I *THINK* I remember our picture from last year- did we take it right before you had to leave early?
