Literary Friday ya’ll….

Well, it’s the day after Thanksgiving and I’m still stuffed. I did a teensy bit of online shopping today, but mostly it’s been a day of Law and Order and playing with the kitty cats.

I finally got around to reading Sometimes I Lie by @alicewriterland & WHY did I take such a long time to get this book?! Could someone explain that to me? 😂 . . I loved the setup of the book. Loved Amber- unreliable narrators are fascinating to me. . . Thanks @crownpublishing for the free book #partner. Special shout out to @tarheelreader for her role in getting me this book. 😘 . . Ok so you know how every Hallmark movie is playing & the cute single girl is finding love ( love that has generally been in front of her face) & all the romance books have Christmas covers with scenes so touchingly perfect… and you may be feeling a bit cynical. Because of a lot of things. . . THIS is the book to read. These characters- their mistakes, wrong turns, etc will feel real & when life goes right- you will root for them. It’s like the perfect combo of a Hallmark movie/Love Actually book. . . #bibliophile #booksofinstagram #booksofinsta

I’m going to try to participate in A Month of Faves. I’ve always enjoyed it!

I’m 14 books away from my reading goal, but I originally set it to 52 and met that, so if I don’t make the second goal I feel okay about that. Honestly, things were so skimpy for me this year that I’m surprised I’ve read as much as I have.

  Good for you! I set mine at 75 and honestly I could read more if I would give up some re-reading of fave books (I don’t count the books if it’s a re-read) or if I took less time with social media- but I so love those carefully curated IG timelines.
  
  I decided a couple years ago to set a reasonable goal and to just have fun with reading. Some months I’m tearing through the books- others, not so much (looking at you Spring and Summer- the garden and the pool take up a LOT of time! )

  *smooches* Thanksgiving weekend was quiet without the girls being here. I’ve honestly done the most of my Christmas shopping already- I’ve got a couple of cute things to pick up here and there and still need to get the girls’ their gifts, but just not going crazy with gifts.
  
  I did some cleaning, started watching Younger and watched Dirty John last night (and have SO.MANY.FEELINGS. about that!)
