Thanks @berkleypub @getredpr @davidbellnovels @lorijill321 for the free book! #partner . . Have you read Somebody's Daughter yet? It's on my list of books to read! . . About SOMEBODY’S DAUGHTER When Michael Frazier’s ex-wife, Erica, unexpectedly shows up on his doorstep, she drops a bombshell that threatens to rip his family apart: Her ten-year-old daughter is missing–and Michael is the father. Unsure whether this is the truth but unwilling to leave the girl’s fate to chance, Michael has no choice but to follow the elusive trail of the child he has always wanted but never knew he had. 📚📚📚 After Michael departs, his wife, Angela, learns shocking news about Erica and fears for the safety of both her husband and the endangered girl. When a stranger, a man who claims a connection to Erica and her missing daughter, knocks on the door, Angela is drawn out into the night–and deep into the tangled web of Michael’s past…. 📚📚📚 Over the course of one night, lies that span a decade come bubbling to the surface, putting Michael, his wife, and his whole family in jeopardy. And as the window for a little girl’s safe return closes, Michael will have to decide who can be trusted and who is hiding the truth… 📚📚📚 About David Bell: David Bell is the USA Today-bestselling author of eight novels from Berkley/Penguin, including SOMEBODY’S DAUGHTER, BRING HER HOME, SINCE SHE WENT AWAY, SOMEBODY I USED TO KNOW, THE FORGOTTEN GIRL, NEVER COME BACK, THE HIDING PLACE, and CEMETERY GIRL. His work has been translated into numerous foreign languages, and in 2013, he won the prestigious Prix Polar International de Cognac for best crime novel by an international author. He is an associate professor of English at Western Kentucky University where he directs the MFA program in creative writing. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he spends his free time rooting for the Reds and Bengals, watching movies, and walking in the cemetery near his house. He lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with his wife, writer Molly McCaffrey. . . This book is getting high praise from my blogger friends- so eager to read! If anyone wants to buddy read, lmk!

4. Summer is a weird time at my house- the days are longer, so theoretically I feel like I get more done- but with the flower garden, there is even more to do ( not counting the washing, drying, vacuuming every day- yes, I vacuum every day- and the other assorted errands I find myself on. I did finish 3 books this week, though (Baby Teeth, Believe Me, and After Nightfall)

*What are you doing this weekend? Happy Reading!!!!*

Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,

  1. until the pool party was canceled–the hostess ended up in the hospital with a kidney stone!

And the baseball game we were supposed to attend on Friday–my husband was so sure it would be canceled because of all the rain, when I picked him up from work after driving through a deluge, he decided to skip it.

    craziness!

    • Crazy times!

I’ve thought we were going to get rain twice this week- so sure we were going to get rain- that I cancelled my afternoon swims. No rain. And by the time I realized that we weren’t going to get the storm- too late to swim. SIGH
