8 Books That Have Me Craving Beach Time, Umbrella Drinks, And The Smell Of SPF!

8 books that have me craving beach time umbrella drinks and the smell of spf

I’m a summer loving person. I love the smell of the SPF in the air, splashing in the pool, the feel of the sand beneath my feet, baseball caps, cute shorts, tank tops, and flip flops. I adore a good umbrella drink while people watching at an outdoor restaurant. And don’t even get me started on my love for seafood.

Even though summer (and my official summer reading list) is still weeks away- today, with it’s breezes and the bright sunshine, plus the puffy white clouds (the kind of weather that begs you to play hooky, go fly a kite or something!) I decided to showcase my love for summer- with some great covers. Full disclosure: All of these books were picked for their covers. They are gorgeous! I actuallyΒ  have read Lies and Other Acts of Love- but the rest of these- well, just the sheer fact of seeing them has me wanting to book a trip to the nearest warm beach, find a spot in the sand, and watch the waves crash in.

In case you want to join me on a virtual trip to the beach (I’ll bring the sunscreen, you bring the umbrellas for the drinks πŸ˜‰ here are the book titles so you can add them to your TBR, request at library, pre-order, or give your hubby/friends a link to my post for birthday gifts!

1. All Summer Long by Dorothea Benton Frank.

2. Firefly Summer by Nan Rossiter

3. Forever Beach by Shelley Noble

4. The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews

5. The Island House by Nancy Thayer

6. Sunshine Beach by Wendy Wax

7. Lies and Other Acts of Love by Kristy Woodson Harvey

8. Islands In The Sea: A Majorca Love Story by Anita Hughes

What books are you looking to read for summer? And, if you are a beach person- what beach do you want to be on right now?

  1. Great group of summer reads! The cover of the upcoming Karen White book has a lovely looking cover, and then there is the last book in the Summer Girls series. I’m actually heading down to our beach house tomorrow! It’s not swimming weather yet, but it’s definitely going to be warm enough to sit and read out by the pool πŸ™‚

    • I’ve got my Futuristic Friday list and my official summer reads list to put together- so those books will probably make appearances on those lists!

Enjoy your time at the beach house- jealous!!!!!!!

  2. Wonderful, wonderful collection of books to look forward to Tamara for the summer! And the covers all captivating….just can’t wait to take one to the beach to read!
