Today I have Jodi Thomas stopping by to talk a bit about her newest book- ONE TRUE HEART. After you read Jodi’s post- scroll further down for my quick thoughts on the book!
Jodi Thomas Talks about ONE TRUE THING
ONE TRUE HEART is a book I’ve been waiting to write for several years. Sometimes characters sat around the kitchen in my mind waiting for their story to be pulled off the back burner and come to life. For those of you who have followed me through Harmony you’re going to see one of my favorite couples Beau and Trouble. And of those who are new, you’ll meet new characters that I think you’ll fall in love with.
I think I’ve wanted to write this story since I wrote TWISTED CREEK. After all, someone had to move into Luke’s cabin after he moved out and what better than a broken hero.
Millanie McAllen is falling apart. She’s wounded and lost. Drew is an expert at blending in. They have nothing in common except an attraction neither believes they are ready to deal with. When Millie takes an undercover assignment, she needs Drew’s help but his hesitation to talk about himself leaves her wondering how much she can trust him.
Flowing through the stories like soft music is Beau and Trouble’s love story. He’s become a star, worth millions in the music industry, but he never forgets his roots in Harmony. When he returns for his father’s death, he has to find the one girl who believed in him from the beginning. She was his midnight love who picked him up at the back of the bar after he’d played all evening for a hundred dollars. They’d race the moon in her sports car, but he never knew her last name. When he finds her, Beau knows that to win her back he’ll have to go back to being that young kid who loved music so much he’d play for free.
This story has people who will come to life as you read. You’ll fall in love with a first love and fall in love for the last time with a forever love. I hope my characters will walk off the pages for you as they have for me.
Now and then I get a letter or e-mail asking me where Harmony, Texas is. It’s in my mind. It always has been. It’s the small town where people care about each other. It is as alive as any town I’ve ever lived in and I hope it will come alive for you also.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
With this being my 2nd Jodi Thomas book, I’m by no means an expert on her previous books- however, I do think that her fans will be very happy with the latest installment.
The characters are so thought-out… fleshed out. They are not one-dimensional- and they are not all good OR all bad. They have layers to them- much like humans in real life.
This book has a little something for everyone- and even better, it can be read as a stand-alone (although you might want to check out other Jodi Thomas books after reading ONE TRUE HEART).
Bottom line: Do you enjoy series books? Like characters that are interesting? Need a palate cleanser (I’ve been on a psychological thriller kick- and this was just what the doctor ordered to “rest” my mind between all the thrillers!) Give ONE TRUE HEART a try!
**Jodi Thomas would like to remind you that you can pre-order your copy of ONE TRUE HEART at her website. The book will be in stores tomorrow!**
Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,
