Murder of a Needled Knitter
Finally, finally, finally Wally and Skye are married. After dating for what feels like forever- the wedding bells have rung and it’s now time for the honeymoon! Skye cannot wait- the cruise sounds amazing. Skye is picturing moonlit walks, having fun in the sun with Wally and all the other wonderful things that a cruise offers……. and then she sees something that may just make her honeymoon not quite the dream time she longed for. What (or shall I say who) could put a damper on a newlywed’s honeymoon?
May. Skye thinks she sees May. And it’s not long before she realizes that she’s on her honeymoon with her mother- and her best friend, Trixie. What’s a girl to do?
Well, Skye makes the best of the situation. After all, she is a married woman- she can’t let her mom ruin the honeymoon.
Well.. May doesn’t plan to ruin the honeymoon… But a dead body just might. When Skye and Trixie discovers Guinevere Stallings- the knitting expert’s body- she knows things are going to be on pins and needles (get it? Needles??!!) until this case is solved. With a suspect list ranging from everyone who has had any contact with the deceased (including May!) to cruise staff- Skye and Wally have their work cut out for them!
Will Skye and Wally have time to find the killer AND enjoy their honeymoon? Only time will tell……
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
This is the 17th book in the Scumble River series and Denise Swanson is still working it. Skye has achieved her happy ending with Wally and still finds time to solve crimes!
Listen- if this isn’t your first Scumble River book- you’ll know the score. It’s a good mystery- maybe not loaded down with tons of twists and turns- but you won’t immediately spot the killer. Instead, you’ll enjoy the shenanigans of the cruise, the chemistry between Wally & Skye, and the character development. You may figure out the bad guy before the story is over (I had my suspicions about a couple of people- but ultimately did not pick the right one); although you’ll just be too busy enjoying the story, salivating over the details of the cruise (go on, mind- enjoy a vacation!) and just laughing that even though Skye and the gang are not in Scumble River- it almost feels like they are!
