Literary Friday, ya’ll…..

literary friday

So, Literary Friday is a day late. My kitty had surgery this week (broken leg; had to have pins put in it). After getting the kitty back on Thursday- it’s been a long two days.

1. Deep South Magazine and their #literaryfriday: News about Billie Letts, Scarlett O’Hara and Tara, and Erin’s plans for a Mississippi literary road-trip, and news about Kim Boykin’s PALMETTO MOON (plus a crab cake recipe and giveaway!)

2. My Novel Opinion reviews THE OLEANDER SISTERS by Elaine Hussey.

3. Doing Dewey has the Non-Fiction Friday link-up posted- so if you love non-fiction, check it out!

4. Traveling With T reviewed THE BLONDE by Anna Godbersen this week. It’s a story about Marilyn Monroe that tells a story about what if Marilyn was a spy. Weinstein Books published this book in May- and it’s quite interesting!

5. River City Reading has written an excellent and thoughtful post on Why I’m Not Reviewing Self-Published Books. The post and the comments are worth a read!

6. What Is That Book About has a post about WHEN WE FALL by Emily Liebert- a book that she is looking forward to reading (as is Traveling With T). Look for the book in September!

7. Traveling With T has an interview with Hank Phillippi Ryan and a Harlequin International Wedding giveaway featured this week on the blog.

8. Traveling With T’s #Fridayreads- TOP SECRET TWENTY-ONE by Janet Evanovich.

Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,

  1. Aw, your poor cat! I hope s/he is doing alright. Thanks for sharing my nonfiction link-up. I’d love to see more bloggers reading nonfiction, so it’s a feature I particularly love to promote. Although I read Shannon’s blog, I haven’t gotten to her discussion of indie publishers yet, but it sounds so interesting, I’m going to go check it out now.

    • Thanks, Katie! He (Jerry) is doing ok. Not used to having a “cast” on his leg and trying to bite his stitches whenever he can. We’ve got to go back tomorrow to get our cast re-wrapped from his weekend antics 😦

While I don’t love non-fiction like you do- I always enjoy checking out the link-up b/c I sometimes see a non-fiction that is interesting sounding to me! So happy to help!

And yes- Shannon’s discussion is so interesting. She’s put together a great post!

  2. Oh no, I hope kitty is on the path to recovery now 😦 Thanks, as always, for linking my blog. I love your Literary Friday posts (even when they are a day late 🙂 ) you never fail to include a post I missed. I’m off to read about Emily Liebert’s new book.

    • He is! He’s being way more active, having to keep him from jumping too much. He’s got a good appetite and has found that he enjoys watching Law and Order while having his belly scratched and his back rubbed. Spoiled kitty. Oh and he loves to play with my socks. LOVES.

Yay! I’m so glad I can provide you with some links that you are unaware of 🙂 🙂
