The Obsession

Summary: “She stood in the deep, dark woods, breath shallow and cold prickling over her skin despite the hot, heavy air. She took a step back, then two, as the urge to run fell over her.”

Naomi Bowes lost her innocence the night she followed her father into the woods. In freeing the girl trapped in the root cellar, Naomi revealed the horrible extent of her father’s crimes and made him infamous. No matter how close she gets to happiness, she can’t outrun the sins of Thomas David Bowes.

Now a successful photographer living under the name Naomi Carson, she has found a place that calls to her, a rambling old house in need of repair, thousands of miles away from everything she’s ever known. Naomi wants to embrace the solitude, but the kindly residents of Sunrise Cove keep forcing her to open up—especially the determined Xander Keaton.

Naomi can feel her defenses failing, and knows that the connection her new life offers is something she’s always secretly craved. But the sins of her father can become an obsession, and, as she’s learned time and again, her past is never more than a nightmare away.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

A friend sent me this to listen to some time ago and I really liked the sound of it. It took me some time to get around to listening to it- but I was really excited for it.

What I Liked:

The cover- creepy!

The beginning. It’s dark and suspenseful and kept me hooked.

The ending. I thought the ending was good.

Bottom line: For me, this was not my fave Nora Roberts book. It’s not bad, but I’ve enjoyed the others I’ve read by her more.

I am a fan of Nora Roberts. I’m sorry this book didn’t get a better review. I requested it from the library along with several other books on your list. I’ve been a fan of your blogs a long time. I just don’t read as fast as you do! I’m still in the beginning of Midnight Sun.

    • Aww thanks! Don’t get me wrong- The Obsession is ok, but compared to the other NR books I’ve recently read- it’s my least fave. However, you may feel completely different- I would love to hear what you think!

YAY for requesting books- I hope you enjoy them all!
