Summer officially began on Saturday (even though I’ve been swimming for weeks!) and you know what goes great with summer? READING. You know what goes even better with summer? Reading your most anticipated summer reads!
So, obviously, this is my blog and you know I could have made a list of books you need to read- BUT, I decided to bring in some help because it’s always nice to know what others are anticipating (and I’m happy to report that 2 of the 3 books mentioned were already on my summer reads list and the other book- well the cover is so darn wonderful that I may just be adding it to my list as well!)
In today’s post- you will meet Sarah from Really Into This, Kate from Bookapotamus and Gina from Reading Girl Reviews (and I HIGHLY encourage you to visit their blogs and stalk follow them on Instagram.)
1. Sarah from Really Into This picks Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan (look for it June 30, 2020)
What Sarah says: “It’s not a secret that I love the Crazy Rich Asians series by Kevin Kwan. I am anxiously awaiting the publication of Sex and Vanity. Truly, it sounds like a perfect summer escape. A love affair, secrets, rich people on vacation & more. Take me away on a salacious & fun escape!”

Kate from Bookapotamus picks Home Before Dark by Riley Sager (look for it June 30, 2020)
What Kate says: “Is there anyone who is NOT excited about the upcoming summer release of Home Before Dark? I’ve read all of Mr. Sager’s books – usually devoured in one day and started immediately the second I get my hands on them. They are compulsively readable and always a fun escape. Home Before Dark is the much anticipated thriller about a house with long-buried secrets and a woman’s quest to uncover them—even if the truth is far more terrifying than any haunting. Haunted house horror story?? Sign me up for all those goosebumps!”
Gina from Reading Girl Reviews picks The First To Lie by Hank Phillippi Ryan (look for it August 4,2020)
What Gina says: “My most anticipated summer read this year is THE FIRST TO LIE by Hank Phillipi Ryan. Anything from Hank P. Ryan is always a no-brainer for me, she writes some of the best twisty thrillers out there. When I heard about THE FIRST TO LIE releasing August 4, 2020 I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. If it is anything like her last book THE MURDER LIST, you already know you are in for one heck of a ride. This one is bound to hit the Bestseller List. Early praise is already calling it a ‘must read for thriller lovers’, ‘a plot that is masterclass,’ ‘impossible to put down’ and ‘the book that may win Ryan her 6th Agatha Award’. I cannot wait to tear through this one, Hank is a master at her game and she never disappoints.”
*Special shoutout to Sarah, Kate, and Gina for sharing their book picks AND photos with me- photo credit for the gorgeous book photos goes to them!*
*Which book(s) will you be adding to your anticipated summer reads list?*

I have not read any of his books, but I love that cover!
I’m reading and loving Afterland by Lauren Beukes and I would love to get my hands on a copy of Small Game Hunting at the Local Gun Club by Megan Gail Coles.
I hope Afterland stayed good for you and you were able to snag a copy of the other book 🙂
