Double Agent
Summary: THIS JUST IN—
On the weather front, Category Four Hurricane Kevin took a last-minute left and is headed straight for the Bellissimo Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.
In breaking news, Undercover Casino Operative Davis Way has one foot out the evacuation door when fifty million dollars disappear, and in its place, a dead body.
In other news, if forced to ride out the storm on the hotel’s thirteenth-floor fortress, Davis won’t be alone. Her husband, Bradley, her best friend, Fantasy, and a crew of highly trained first responders will be hurricane hostages too, along with Mississippi State Gaming Agents, a FEMA agent, an insurance agent, a State Special Agent, and an Emergency Response Agent—at least one of them a double agent.
The good news is her high school reunion is cancelled.
The bad news is everything else.
The fake news features a castaway pig named Bacon.
The hurricane heist headlines will be sensational. If Davis survives to see them. Grab your rain slicker and galoshes for DOUBLE AGENT, A Davis Way Crime Caper, and prepare yourself for a perfect storm of humor, hijinks, and heart.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
I can always count on lots of laughs when I pick up a Davis Way book. Davis is like a Southern Stephanie Plum- except her character has moved forward in many ways- where at last point I picked up a Plum book- Stephanie was still deciding between Ranger and Joe ( I hate LONG term love triangles that drag on needlessly long for a gajillion books- plus I’m Team Cupcake.)
Anyway… moving on..
The other thing that I love about the series- besides the fact that I’m in for lots of laughs- is that the setting is based on the Beau Rivage casino in Biloxi, MS and well, I just adore that place (and am feeling a bit sad because my mom’s April work conference there got cancelled and I was looking forward to getting a massage and sitting by the pool).
Again, getting off track…
What I Liked:
The cover. They are always fun.
Davis just shines a bit extra in this book. The catastrophes she’s dealing with just makes all her good characteristics extra bright.
The mystery was also pretty good!
Bottom line: If you haven’t read Davis Way- you are missing out.
