Join Girlxoxo and I today as we talk about some things we’ve watched or listened to this year!
Today’s prompt:
WED. | Dec 11 – #AMonthofFaves On the Screen or in Your Ear – What did you watch this year that you absolutely loved and did you see any movies inspired by books you’ve read – what did you think. Or, what are some of your favorite podcasts, audiobooks or songs / albums that you listened to and have on repeat.
I spent most of 2019 NOT going to the movies- and then in November, I saw 3: Charlie’s Angels, Frozen 2 and Knives Out. I liked all 3 of them for various reasons- but Knives Out really combined some humor with mystery- which I loved.
Podcasts: I’m in need of a new podcast. I’m super picky about them and have not found any that I was loving since I listened to Up and Vanished.
Music: I’m SO not cool with music. You won’t find my Iphone filled with cool bands (but I just like what I like!)
Some songs that are on one of most listened to playlists:
Taylor Swift- You Need To Calm Down
Eric Clapton- I’ve Got A Rock “N” Roll Heart
Carrie Underwood- Dirty Laundry
Lady Antebellum- You Look Good
Kelsea Ballerini – Miss Me More
I also re-discovered some old fave songs: Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong by Spin Doctors, Would I Lie To You by Charles and Eddie, King of Wishful Thinking by Go West, and Someday by Mariah Carey.
TV: Well… confession time- I don’t have all those fancy streaming services like so many people do because the internet is just not fast enough to stream without a LOT of buffering. So like SO many of the shows people get excited about- nope, don’t watch them. And there is no Netflix and chill happening at my house. 😦
I did watch Big Little Lies season 2 on HBO and I liked it- but I also was kind of underwhelmed by it.
I watch a LOT of Law and Order and I am tickled pink that Ovation TV is running re-runs of The Practice ( a courtroom drama that is so. darn.good. )
*What were you listening/watching in 2019? And please don’t make fun of my musical choices 😉 *

Oh my goodness. I didn’t ever think I would find someone like me! HA! We also don’t have a TV or Netflix. If you check out my post you’ll see that I’m back on Grey’s Anatomy 🙂 And yes, I love some of that 80s music as evidenced by my daughter’s tastes 🙂
We saw NO movies this year but we’re going on a Disney Cruise in January so we’re going to see Frozen 2 and the new Star Wars on the ship. Whooo hoo!!!
The internet at my house is just sh*tty slow. My brother bought a roku some time ago and it just buffered like crazy- so, we do DirectTV at the house. And SO funny- I was under the weather back in early October and found Grey’s on DirectTV (the early episodes) and watched them!
Jealous about your Disney cruise- sounds AMAZING!
I just recently started listening to a bunch of 90s pop music again and I had kind of forgotten how much I love it–like, The Black Crowes, Blues Traveler, Oasis, Duncan Sheik, and other stuff like that. And I still know all the words! Hahaha!
The Black Crowes!!! Love them!
I don’t have fancy streaming channels, either.
I have that song by the Spin Doctors on a CD!

I LOVE that you have that Spin Doctors song on a CD. I do somewhere- but I think a boyfriend burned me a mixtape CD!
Are you able to get DVDs from your library if you want them? My wait times are long, but I can get pretty much anything that comes to DVD 🙂
You know- I’ve never checked. Our new book selection is pitiful- so I doubt, but I will swing by and see!
