We’ve got that Fri-YAY feeling today with the latest #AMonthofFaves post! Join in the fun with GirlXoXo and me and let’s talk about the faves of 2019!
Today’s topic: FRI | Dec. 6 – #AMonthofFaves The 2019 Favorite Things Edition – e.g. to wear, smell, see, do, enjoy, best purchases, most used gift received, most used purchases, favorite concert, outdoor activity, something crafty you made.
As usual, I’ll sit here- think for a while about fave things I did, bought, whatever… conclude that I did absolutely nothing fun and am a boring person… and then look back at some of photos and be like “Oh yeah- I did have fun!”
In no particular order:
Fave vacation: New York for Book Expo and Dallas, TX for Bouchercon.
Book Expo 2019
Bouchercon 2019
Fave Concert/Broadway show:
FROZEN. Which is kinda of a cheat since it was the only thing I saw in that category- but still. IT WAS SOOOOOOO GOOD. And yes, I cried a bit. Because I have a tender heart. Bite me twice.
Fave new makeup/beauty:
While in NYC, I stopped in the Jo Malone store and fell in love with the scent of Nectarine Blossom and Honey. I have the perfume and while I love the scent- I also love that no one where I live is wearing it.
Fave new-ish drink to me:
When I went to college- a gajillion years ago- in the summer- a bar/restaurant would have 3 for 1 Frozen Bellinis and my roommates and I would go out- and take turns buying rounds (it was 3 of us- so it worked out perfectly.) In NYC at my hotel this year, I saw bellinis on the menu and while it wasn’t frozen- it was delicious.
Fave self-care:
Getting my nails done.
Fave way to spend an hour or so:
Bookstagramming my way through life.
Fave Food and Drink:
Crab cakes and fried green tomatoes from Half Shell Oyster
Fave gift from a friend:
Thanks Katie at Doing Dewey for bringing a smile to my face during some of the stresses during early 2019. Your kindness will NEVER be forgotten.
Fave new to me eating place:
I FINALLY got to eat at a Shake Shack. We don’t have them in MS (we do have Five Guys) and while I can’t really say which burger I prefer (SS was good, but I also like FG)- I’m glad I got a chance to give them a try.
Favorite People:
My nieces!
Fave New Experience:
Being a poll manager. Yes, folks- not only did I vote this year (4 times!) I also worked each and every election. It was an experience and an eye-opening to all the work that goes on before/after you cast your vote.
Fave new movies:
I saw only 2 movies in theater this year- Frozen 2 and Knives Out. Both were good in different ways.
Fave blogging experience:
Sometimes publishers send out cute boxes of fun stuff to go with promotion of the book. I got to take part in an experience like this with The Wife Between Us previously and was VERY excited to receive a book box for A Stranger on the Beach. ❤ Had a great time sharing about my box and photographing the book and drink!
*What did you do in 2019 that rocked your socks off?*

Three cheers for voting and being a poll manager! *\o/*
It was such an experience- I had NO idea all the work that went into making sure your vote was counted properly, etc!
Yes to crab cakes! I also thought the same thing when I was coming up with my post. But I came up with some answers. 😂
I adore crab cakes!!!!!! I’ll be checking out your post soon 🙂
I am writing about Frozen next week. Spoiler alert: I cried too! It was fun to write this post and see some favourite things from 2019 so thank you for having this as a category.
I LOVED Frozen! Thanks goes to Tanya and Kim- they come up with the list of prompts!
It’s fun to see your favorite things that aren’t book related!
I LOVE books- but I also love to share my non-book loves (which I have quite a few of!) Glad you liked my post!
You absolutely had the best experiences this year 😉
THANK YOU!!!!! ❤
Aww, I’m glad you enjoyed the flowers so much! I’m sad I’ve not had more time to join in with this event over the past week – it has been so busy at both my job and my husbands! – but I’m working on a post for today’s prompt presently 🙂
I did love the flowers so much- thank you! I’m just happy for you to post whenever you can!
