How To Walk Away
Summary: From the author of Happiness for Beginners comes an unforgettable love story about finding joy even in the darkest of circumstances.
Margaret Jacobsen has a bright future ahead of her: a fiancé she adores, her dream job, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment.
In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect.
How to Walk Away is Katherine Center at her very best: an utterly charming, hopeful, and romantic novel that will capture reader’s hearts with every page.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
Oh my, this book has been on my TBR list for some time. Everyone I knew loved it and I am no exception.
Friends were telling me that it had a Me Before You vibe (and it does, but a very light one) and I think that was why I was hesitant to start this book because I did not want to be sad.
What I liked:
The cover. SO gorgeous. So red. So eye catching.
Margaret. She could have turned bitter. She could have cried every day for what she could no longer have. She did have moments of despair- but I loved how she fought, how she faced her challenges and worked to adapt- not to just get by, but to ultimately learn to thrive with her new reality.
The ending. I loved it.
Bottom line: In my Goodreads review, I said this: “A very light feel of a Me Before You vibe, a gorgeous cover and main character that you can’t help but root for makes this a book that you should not miss. ” And that sums up exactly why you should read it. ❤
