A Stranger on the Beach

Summary: From the bestselling author of It’s Always the Husband comes a novel about a love triangle that begins on a fateful night…

There is a stranger outside Caroline’s house.

Her spectacular new beach house, built for hosting expensive parties and vacationing with the family she thought she’d have. But her husband is lying to her and everything in her life is upside down, so when the stranger, Aiden, shows up as a bartender at the same party where Caroline and her husband have a very public fight, it doesn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary.

As her marriage collapses around her and the lavish lifestyle she’s built for herself starts to crumble, Caroline turns to Aiden for comfort…and revenge. After a brief and desperate fling that means nothing to Caroline and everything to him, Aiden’s obsession with Caroline, her family, and her house grows more and more disturbing. And when Caroline’s husband goes missing, her life descends into a nightmare that leaves her accused of her own husband’s murder.

A Stranger on the Beach is Strangers on a Train meets Fatal Attraction in Michele Campbell’s edge-of your-seat story of passion and intrigue.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

Having enjoyed both of Michele’s previous books, It’s Always The Husband and She Was The Quiet One– I couldn’t wait to get my hands on A Stranger at the Beach.

First, if you’ve read either of Michele’s previous books, then you are in for a treat- because her writing style changes a bit in this book and becomes more intense as we read chapters alternating in character’s voices.

What I Liked:

The cover. Black, red and the ocean rolling in. Ominous.

The characters- who are the good ones? The bad ones? The 2 main characters, Caroline and Aidan, are both VERY good at drawing you in deep into their story.

The ending.

Bottom line: I said this in my Goodreads review and it bears repeating: Parts of this book- I had no idea where the author was headed. It was crazy town sometimes. But when pieces begin to fall in place, you see how clever the author is and how these characters had to be a blast to write about!
