Rooted in Deceit

Summary: It’s summertime in Winsome. Washington Acres is abloom, Megan is preparing for the grand opening of their wood-fired pizza farm, and things with Megan’s beau, handsome Dr. Finn, are getting as hot as the August temperatures. But when Megan’s ne’er-do-well father arrives in Pennsylvania with his high-maintenance Italian wife, Sylvia, and announces they’re staying at the new yoga retreat center a town away, a sweet occasion sours.
Eager to secure pieces for her Milan boutique, Sylvia finagles a meeting with up-and-coming artist Thana Moore, whose work is showing at the retreat center. After their explosive encounter, Thana is murdered and Sylvia becomes the prime suspect. Only Sylvia isn’t the only one with ties to the artist—once upon a time, Thana Moore had been Megan’s best friend. As Megan delves into Thana’s past, piecing together the years since their falling out, she realizes that something sinister is afoot in Bucks County. Unless Megan can find the killer, this idyllic summer will turn nightmarish. Innocent people may be imprisoned—and even more could die.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

Last May at Book Expo, one of my fave publicists met up with me for lots of bookish talk and to make sure I had the latest Wendy Tyson book in my hand. ❤

I’ve really grown to enjoy the Greenhouse Mystery series. The town of Winsome is charming and has enough quirkinesses  to be interesting, but not so much that I’m rolling my eyes at the quirkinesses. I like Megan- the main character. She’s strong and independent, but also has some vulnerability under she strong layers. The romance between Megan and Denver is simmering along nicely as well!

What I liked:

The cover. So peaceful and the sunflowers are so cheerful!

The cast of characters. They all bring something to the series- there is def no deadweight with this ensemble.

Where the character of Megan might be heading next in her Washington Acres business. If she’s heading in the way I suspect, I can’t wait to see what Wendy Tyson has planned for Megan and Washington Acres!

Bottom line: This is a cute cozy mystery series. Wendy focuses a good deal on the characters, so if you haven’t read her books, I would suggest starting with book 1 to get the full enjoyment of the development of her characters.
