Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

When Erin of Deep South Magazine guest posted about 12 Mysteries That Will Give You Chills This Summer- she included Believe Me and I have to say that the cover really intrigued me. So when I saw it at the Speed Dating event at Book Expo- I did not hesitate to grab it.

So a couple or so weeks ago, I decided to read this book by the pool- the book sounded perfect!

For Claire- life is a stage. She lives, breathes, dreams about acting and takes all her life experiences and channels it into her acting.

Because Claire is an actress, she’s also a chameleon- she slips into roles easily and you can never really tell if she’s telling the truth or if she’s telling the truth that she believes.

For me, this book fell flat. Sure there are like 500 twists, but honestly- after awhile I was not sure I even cared. And if I never hear about Baudelaire again, I could die happy.

In the end, the synopsis of this book and the cover (dark and edgy) lured me in, but the story just didn’t hook me like I had anticipated.

Bottom line: I’m def in the minority about not LOVING this one. Many of my book friends loved it. And it was probably a mistake for me to read this one after Baby Teeth, so….. One day I might try to re-read it to see if it was a case of bad timing on reading…..
