#AMonthOfFaves: The 2017 Favorites Edition

Hi ya’ll! Today is the first day of #AMonthOfFaves and I can’t wait to see your posts!

The skinny on #AMonthOfFaves:

Join hosts  GirlxoxoTraveling with T and Estella’s Revenge for our 4th annual #AMonthofFaves blog event – a fun way to recap the year that was. We have every day of the event (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) planned out for you, so you can join in anytime. There will also be a link-up on all our blogs – put a link to your post so  that we can stop by each and every post to leave comments, high fives, good vibes and well wishes. Here’s what we’ll be blogging about.

Today’s prompt:

Fri. | Dec. 1#AMonthofFaves [The 2017 Favorites Edition]– eg. to eat, drink, wear, smell, see, do, enjoy, best purchases, most used gift received etc, favorite concert, outdoor activity, place visited, most squee worthy moment of the year.

2017 has been a fun year for the most part. I became an aunt again. I finally met Alison Law at Book Expo. I became friends with a new blogger Suzy Approved Book Reviews. I spent time with my oldest niece, Miss A- blowing bubbles, watching movies, playing pretend games (her favorite: when she’s the princess and I’m the horse…. I’m trying to not read too much into that and say it’s because I make the best horse sounds….) I met Jane Green this year. I was acknowledged in Kristy Woodson Harvey’s latest book, Slightly South of Simple. I worked hard on my side hustle. I read some great books. I took time to focus on me.

Let me break my year/faves down a little bit:

Fave drink: Water has been the drink that has passed my lips the most this year. An occasional glass of wine (Moscato is my fave) and some hot chocolate is like dessert in a cup.

Fave foods: I’m a sucker for Bablau shrimp tacos.

Favorite smells this year: I’m still loving Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, but for a lighter scent- Lemon Custard spray by philosophy is my happy place. I also love how when Miss A comes over- she says “Make me smell good, Tam!” (This is code for spritz her with Lemon Custard!)

Most used gift this year:  Technically, this gift was received in 2016- Santa brought it for me. But it’s my Iphone 7plus and I REALLY love it. I take lots of pictures with it, play on Instagram like alllll the time, and love that I can use it pretty much anywhere and everywhere.

Fave place visited: I went to NYC, Orange Beach, AL and Baton Rouge, LA this year. All were fun in their own way! Highlights of NYC trip: Getting invited to a private luncheon for author B.A. Paris, meeting Jane Green, seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, hanging out with Alison, Kristin and Rhiannon, meeting Stacy and Suzy! Highlights from Orange Beach: Dolphin cruise with my mom and eating good food/relaxing on the beach. Highlights from Baton Rogue: Hanging with Erin and talking with authors like Patti Callahan Henry and Lauren K. Denton.

Squee-worthy moments of the year: Becoming an aunt again is pretty much top of the list. Little A is so sweet and smart!

Other fun moments this year: Having fun with Alexa.

Now that you know about my year…  are you ready to link up and tell me all about your 2017?

    • Thank you! I have tried many wines- one old boyfriend kept making me try reds even though I didn’t care for them and I finally found a wine I like when my cousin sent this bottle for my birthday one year. I don’t drink wine toooooooo much, but when I do- I’m going for the moscato!

    • Thank you! I think my niece is a sweet baby (but I’m biased!) so nice to hear from an un-biased person 😉

I have NO idea. They are from a restaurant called Babalu’s in Jackson, MS. If I remember next time I’m there, I’ll ask and let you know. They are REALLY good!
