If you’ve been a long time reader of Traveling With T, you know that I have a niece that I refer to as Miss A. She’s been the apple of my eye since the day she was born and I’ve loved watching her grow, use her imagination, and play! Side note: I recently became an aunt again and I now have another A in my life- so she’s Little A π
I can’t exactly pinpoint the time in my life that I identified with becoming a reader- I remember my mom and dad reading to me when I was a kid (FAVE book: The Monster at the End of The Book) but I also have memories of listening to books on tape by myself.
As I grew up, my literary loves were BabySitters Club, Nancy Drew and Sweet Valley Twins.
Reading has provided me with SO. MUCH. JOY. over the years. And I feel really strongly that both of my A’s learn to enjoy reading. They don’t have to read all the time. They don’t have to love reading as much as I do. But having a healthy appreciation for books is what I’m desiring for them- and I think the best way to start this is by showing them books. Letting them look at them. Seeing me read them. Reading to them. Letting them play with books and just having fun.
So, from time to time on my blog- Miss A will be sharing books she likes. Please note that Miss A is in the age range of 3-5 currently and is not “reading” the books, but more letting me know what she likes as far as pictures and stories being read to her.
Thanks to Ann-Marie at Get Red PR, Miss A has received 3 books that will be featured over the next few weeks at Traveling With T. Books are: Good Night Baby Animals: You’ve Had a Busy Day, How Lucky Got His Shoe, and The Big Adventures of TinyΒ House.
*What is your fave children’s book?*
Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,
