Saturday, November 26th is #SmallBusinessSaturday! Don’t forget to #shopsmall!
What does #ShopSmall mean to me? To me, it means waking up early that Saturday and preparing to drive to a few local-ish stores. Picking up a coffee and darting in and out of the stores as I decide what I need to pick up for my shopping list for the holidays.
Where will I shop?
At this point, I’m undecided- but I’m going to lay out some options as to where my CRV may take me:
Greenwood:
Stopping in at TurnRow Books– looking over the signed books or checking out the newest hardcover books. For #SmallBusinessSaturday, they will have 2 specials- 20% off books from their Holiday Gift Guide and Sign up for Child’s First Book Club and get first book free. As an aunt to the beautiful Miss A ( and about to be an aunt again!) this has much appeal to me!
After TurnRow, stopping in at The Mississippi Gift Company. I have a couple of hard to shop for people on my list and I can usually find some pottery or some foodie items here.
Lunch: Delta Bistropub. Mainly because crab cakes and fried green tomatoes are calling my name.
Jackson:
It’ll be a bit more of a driving distance (and everything I want to do will be spread out- so very little parking my car and walking like it would be in Greenwood)
Cups Coffee will be my first stop. A Blondie ( a very sweet coffee!) to go.
Apple Annie’s will be the next stop. My daddy’s a bit of a foodie- he likes different types of rubs and sauces to try out on his grilling experiments- and they have all his faves (plus a few new ones for Daddy to try!)
Lemuria Books will be the next stop. I love to look over the new books and they will be having a couple of signings that day.
Lunch will be at Babalu. I will also enjoy a Baba-rita while I people-watch, take notes for my blogging plans, and map out the rest of the day.
Since I am in the area, I will also stop at Campbell’s Bakery. They have caramel blondies that are to die for. Then a quick browse at Thimblepress!
After all that shopping, my feet will probably need to rest and what better place to rest them than at a pedicure chair!
As my day winds to an end- supper will be at Table 100 or Georgia Blue.
Columbus:
Columbus also holds some appeal to me for Small Business Saturday as I can do some shopping and combine a visit to family all in one trip.
Coffee at Coffee House on 5th to kickstart the morning.
Stop in at The Purple Elephant.
Make plans to meet with family at a local restaurant for lunch.
Walk the downtown area- looking at store windows and popping into interesting places.
Grab dinner with my cousin in the Columbus or Starkville area- then head home after I grab a coffee to go from Strange Brew Coffeehouse.
*Where will you #ShopSmall for Small Business Saturday?*
