#AMonthOfFaves: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2

amonthoffaveshome

I read The Hunger Games trilogy back before THE HUNGER GAMES came out in movies. And I LOVED it. Even MOCKINGJAY- which is the most depressing book in the series.

So for today’s prompt- I pay homage to Mockingjay Part 2!

Check out Tanya and Andi’s post to see what they are talking about 🙂

Mockingjay Part 2:

Ok, so I kinda of hate when the movie people decide to split up the book in 2 movies. My bladder doesn’t hate it, tho- because for Mockingjay to be truly accurate- it would need to be at least a 4 hour movie (or the equivalent of a modern day Gone With The Wind movie!)

Thoughts:

I melted when Katniss and Peeta did their “Stay with me. Always” line. MELTED. Just in case you can’t tell- I’m total #TeamPeeta.

Sam C- the guy that played Finnick- well, for some time I just couldn’t see him as Finnick. He just wasn’t the Finnick  that I pictured from my reading. Maybe it’s time. Maybe I’ve gotten used to him. But he was great in this movie.

The shooting of President Coin. Even more dramatic than I imagined.

The last line- There are much worse games to play. I’ll be honest- it may not be my FAV line from the series (I have quite a few- including the Stay With Me as referenced above) but, it’s such a powerful line. So it had to be said right. Or used right in the movie. And YASSSSSS- it was. Perfection.

Did you watch Mockingjay Part 2?

  1. I’ve seen it as well! I’m going to re-watch it soon. I thought it was a really good film, but the ending… I’ve read the books as well and I just had such a different image in my mind of it and although they’ve tried to not make it seem like a perfect ending, the meadow-scene was just a bit too much for me :P.

  2. I read and loved the books, read and loved the movies!!! I think they did an excellent job being as close to the books as they could, and I know that Suzanne Collins is very pleased with the screen adaptation of her books!

  3. There were many things that I very much liked about this movie, though the whole time I wasn’t as IN love with it as I thought I’d be. But then I figured out why.

A: Because Im Team Gale. For multiple reasons.

B: I think my favorite characters are some of the peripherary ones, like Cinna and Cesar Flickerman. And since the whole thing was basically the battle you didn’t get the time with the interesting side characters like you did before. Like, I need more angry Joanna in my life, pronto.

  4. I loved loved the books too. I’ve been watching the movies, but am getting confused with the different releases. I don’t think I’ve seen Mockingjay 2 yet. As is usually the case, I enjoyed the books more than the movie. I think I could sit and watch the whole movie series at one time.
