So, lovely folks- the super-smart Tanya at 52 Books of Bust has declared the time between November 1-December 15th to be FREE RANGE READING. Eek! Can’t you just feel the excitement in the air?!
So, while I will not be able to devote all of my time for the next few weeks to free range reading (too many review books and not enough time- can we clone me?) I will, however, be participating some. And, in the spirit of participating- here is my first free range reading book- ON BORROWED TIME by Jenn McKinlay!
Summary from Goodreads:
Loving a good cup of coffee runs in the family for Briar Creek library director Lindsey Norris. But when her brother, Jack, a consultant for a coffee company, goes missing, her favorite beverage becomes a key clue in a dangerous mystery.
Between preparing the library for the holidays and juggling the affections of ex-boyfriend, Captain Mike Sullivan, and her new crush, actor Robbie Vine, Lindsey has her hands full. But the mysterious disappearance of her world-traveling playboy brother takes precedence over all.
Afraid that involving the police could brew trouble for Jack, Lindsey takes matters into her own hands. But as her quest for her brother embroils her in a strange case involving South American business dealings and an enigmatic and exotic woman, it’ll take the help of both her library book club—the crafternooners—and her eager-to-please suitors to keep Jack from ending up in hot water…
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
First, I am a big, huge, ULTIMATE Jenn McKinlay fan. I love the Library Lovers series (as well as the Cupcake series!)
Lindsey is adorable. She is so darn cute. And I’m loving her romantic triangle- Sully and Robbie are equally great characters- and both bring out different sides in Lindsey. While my spidey senses says that Sully is the man for her, Robbie has def appeal.
In this mystery, we get to meet Lindsey’s brother- and he is up to trouble to his eyeballs. Alluring, mysterious, and very protective of Lindsey- Jack and Lindsey had some great brother/sister chemistry.
Basically, I LOVED this book. But then, I love the Library Lover’s series- so I was not surprised. If you have been a fan in the past- then no worries- this book is top notch. If this is new to you- go back and read from the beginning- and get ready to add another author to your MUST READ list!
Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,
