I know. I know. I KNOW. It’s Sunday. Don’t worry, T is not confused about the day of the week. But I did not get to mention #literaryfriday on Friday because…..Little Baby Owl and I were spending the day together- and she only takes kindly to technology when it’s being used to take pictures & Tweet about visiting her- Baby Owl ain’t got no time for blogging.
So, I’m going to catch ya’ll up on some #literaryfriday with 2 mentions from Deep South Magazine since I missed the week before #literaryfriday because I was in Granbury, TX (more on that later and probably a pic of my fetch hat. And yes, I use the word fetch (“Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen. It’s not going to happen!”)
Deep South Magazine and their #literaryfriday (Jan 24th) is filled with news about Wiley Cash Twitter Chat (Jan 31st), #readwomen2014, and Erin’s notes from Southern Gothic literary class she has been taking. The Jan 17th #literaryfriday talks about how BookRiot has declared 2014 the year of the reader, mentions Traveling With T’s New Year Resolutions month long Guest Post Feature, and news of the first bookless library opening in Texas.
Erin Bass and Alison Law both wrote a guest post for Traveling With T New Year Resolutions feature. Alison talks about how 2014 is the year to be imperfect and Erin Bass learns the power of “no”. Both posts will make you think- think about how we want our 2014 to be.
Traveling With T has a giveaway happening: Win Emyliah Hall’s THE SWISS AFFAIR (thanks Harlequin Books for the giveaway opportunity).
Friday was the unveiling of a new feature- a joint feature with myself (Traveling With T) and Katie (Doing Dewey). Together, we are creating an quarterly feature called Futuristic Friday– where we list books that we are excited to read that will be published during that quarter. It’s fun because while Katie and I do like some of the same books (we are both She Reads bloggers)- Katie likes some non-fiction and I’m more of a mystery (cozy & suspense- when not reading women’s fiction!) Futuristic Friday looks pretty good- and I can’t wait for the next quarter list in April at Doing Dewey!
This week on Traveling With T, I confess my feelings on Audio Books- Yay or Nay? Please join in and share your thoughts (and if you have an audio book recommendation- share that as well!)
My #fridayreads: Starter House by Sonja Condit and Hunted by Elizabeth Heiter.
