Hey guys, I’m Rebecca from Love at First Book, and today I am going to share with you some of my 2014 Resolutions. I divided them up into bookish and bloggy, since it just seems to work well that way!
Bookish Resolutions:
- Read 150+ books again this year
- Keep making dents in my Classics Club list & the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die
- Continue with my 50 Bookish Things You Must Do Before You Die list and make any changes to the list if needed
- Attend BEA, which I am fully planning on doing!
Bloggy Resolutions:
- Redo my About page in January and reread it monthly
- Start keeping better track of my stats on a monthly basis
- Become a G+ pro and use the communities more actively
- Video blog monthly
- Create bookish craft DIYs 2x per month
- Grab some more co-hosts for my Spread the Love Linky Party
Hopefully I’ll be just as good with my resolutions as I was last year. In 2013, I accomplished all of my resolutions, which I was kind of surprised about!
Your turn! Share one of your resolutions with me!

Great resolutions, Rebecca! Sounds like it will be a busy but very enjoyable year! My resolution is to make more time for reading rather than letting writing completely take over my life 🙂
That sounds like a great plan, Adria! I think sometimes we let things consume us a little too much and we need to balance them out a little more. I noticed before the holidays I was getting a little too consumed with social media, so I’ve given myself social media goals as not to be too consumed!
YES. Exactly. So well-said!
THAT is a great resolution- writing is great- but you need time to rest and recharge- and reading a good book is the perfect way!
Thanks for mentioning! BTW, great post!
My resolution this year is to attend at least 4 author signings / events. I attend 0 in 2013 so 4 seems like a reasonable goal. It’s 1 event every 3 months. I’m hoping the relocation helps with finding good events to go.
Good resolution! Atl will have many book signings to attend. There are 2 coming up that I want to attend- 1 for sure, 1 I’m just considering.
That is a good goal! I heard LibraryThing’s Local area has that info! I’m going to look into it, too.
What a great goals, Rebecca!
Those 150 books amaze me, and I love the idea of a monthly video 😀
Good luck!! (not that you need it, haha)
Thanks, Isi! And I do still need luck 😀
Thanks Isi for stopping by! 150 books- wow! How does Rebecca do it all is something I’ll never figure- I think she must be a Superwoman 🙂
150 books is very impressive! I’m aiming for 100 – I think I’ll probably be able to beat that, even if it’s just by a little bit, but I thought I’d rather set too low a goal rather than too high! This year I want to read as widely as I possibly can and maybe try a few that are outside my normal reading comfort zone.
Jan- Great goals! And thanks for stopping by 🙂
Reading out of your comfort zone- what is your comfort zone in reading?
Thanks! 🙂 I usually try to read quite widely but towards the end of last year I did get a bit bogged down with supernatural/YA/dystopian type books so I’d like to get back to reading more widely. I can get a bit intimidated by really massive books or heavy hitters like the Man Booker prize books so I’d like to commit to something like that or maybe new genres/styles as well.
I understand. I tend to read more women’s fiction, southern lit and mystery/suspense. Sometimes I want to read out of my norm. But I do love my normal reads 🙂
Great goals, Rebecca! Good luck with it all. I’m sure you’ll rock.
Thank you, Andi! 😀 You know you’ve inspired me with the vlogs!
Rebecca will totally rock 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Andi!
Great goal Rebecca-good luck!!
Great resolutions! They seem ambitious but do-able 🙂 I’m hoping to post more non-review content on my blog this year, although I haven’t officially written up any resolutions.
YES! Reviews are great- but some non-review stuff is also good!
Updating your about page monthly is a great idea! I don’t revisit that page on my blog nearly enough.
Same here! Thanks for stopping by!
