The Forever Girl
Summary: New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis does it once again with a heartfelt story of family, forgiveness, and secrets that have the power to change the course of more than one life.
When Maze returns to Wildstone for the wedding of her estranged bff and the sister of her heart, it’s also a reunion of a once ragtag team of teenagers who had only each other until a tragedy tore them apart and scattered them wide.
Now as adults together again in the lake house, there are secrets and resentments mixed up in all the amazing childhood memories. Unexpectedly, they instantly fall back into their roles: Maze their reckless leader, Cat the den mother, Heather the beloved baby sister, and Walker, a man of mystery.
Life has changed all four of them in immeasurable ways. Maze and Cat must decide if they can rebuild their friendship, and Maze discovers her long-held attraction to Walker hasn’t faded with the years but has only grown stronger.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
Ya’ll- I am a major fan of the Wildstone series by Jill Shalvis and The Forever Girl just rocked my socks off. I LOVE this series.
What I Liked:
Well first the cover. SO perfect, So bright and colorful.
Our girl characters- Maze and Cat. (I also enjoyed Heather!) Maze and Cat had some underlying tensions to work out (or not) in their relationships and you know how friendships with old friends fall back into defined roles- but when you haven’t been around each other in a while- there is a hint of tension or unease as you are not sure you can really be friends- or if it’s just the past memories that keep you friends. Totally felt that vibe with M & C and Jill Shalvis def explored that.
How the story ends- it’s a good ending and I would not mind some type of a revisit to these characters.
Bottom line: When I open a Wildstone series book- I know I am in for a delicious treat. The Forever Girl did not disappoint and if I wasn’t already a fan- I would be a fan after reading this book!
