The Girl He Used To Know

Summary: What if you had a second chance at first love?

Annika Rose likes being alone.
She feels lost in social situations, saying the wrong thing or acting the wrong way. She just can’t read people. She prefers the quiet solitude of books or playing chess to being around others. Apart from Jonathan. She liked being around him, but she hasn’t seen him for ten years. Until now that is. And she’s not sure he’ll want to see her again after what happened all those years ago.

Annika Rose likes being alone.
Except that, actually, she doesn’t like being alone at all.

The Girl He Used to Know is an uplifting novel full of surprising revelations that keep you turning the page. Perfect for fans of Jojo Moyes, Gail Honeyman, Jill Santopolo and Sliding Doors.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

I’m not sure why I took so long in reading this. But some where in the hustle and bustle of 2019, this book got put on my shelf and I am just now reading it.

I LOVED this book.

I went into it pretty much not sure what to expect- but this was a sweet story. It even made me cry a bit.

What I liked:

The cover!

Annika. My heart ached for her when she didn’t understand things. I loved that she had a quiet strength about herself that I don’t think she even recognized. Annika was a beautiful character.

The story of Jonathan and Annika. You know, I look back at some people I dated and there is only one or 2 that I can really say “I wish I had met you later in life” OR that fate would bring us back together to see about a second chance. I loved how their story started and LOVED them together later.

Bottom line: For me, this was a fast read- less than 2 days and even though it made me cry- I’ve got about 5 people in mind that I’m going to recommend this book to over and over again until they read it 🙂
