Those Girls

The Campbell sisters- Jess, Courtney and Dani- do not have the easy-peasy life. Their mom has passed away and their dad is a man who waffles between looking for his next drink or the next fight (and sometimes both at the same time!)

One night, after Dad gets home- a fight turns into something much worse than normal. The sisters don’t know what else to do but leave. So, they grab a few things and start to head to Vancouver- a place where freedom awaits them.

Or so they think.

The line about “the best laid plans” and all that- well, these sisters don’t have a plan. They want to be far away from the horror of that house, their father, and live life- unafraid.

Turns out fate has 1 more card up her sleeve for the sisters.

On the way to Vancouver, truck trouble happens and they meet 2 boys who are willing to help them. Too willing to help.

Is it possible that the Campbell girls have leapt from the pan to the straight up fire? Yes, indeed.

THOSE GIRLS is a tale with many layers- revenge, trying to live a normal life, and dealing with the scars.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

I wasn’t sure what to think exactly when I started this book. I knew things were bad for the sisters. I had no idea about how much worse they were going to get.

Warning: If you do not like graphic scenes- this book may not be the best for you. Chevy does not shy away from revealing how bad the girls have it after they leave their house. Is it over the top graphic? No. But if you have a soft-heart or do not enjoy to think about people in pain- well.. I’m just giving you a warning.

I’ll admit that at one point- I did think “CHEVY!!! Let the girls get a break!” But then, I would be sucked back into the story because I had to know what happens next.

This is a hard book to talk about without getting into some major spoilers- so let’s just sum it up and say “I kept reading because I had to know what happened next and each time I thought “THIS WAS IT”, well, there was more!”
