I Regret Nothing

Jen is back- and is talking the difference between mistakes and regrets. Mistakes help people grow- and Jen has made plenty (see all previous books for proof). But regrets? Jen has no time for that. She wants to learn to ride a bike. Learn a new language. Immerse herself in another culture.

So, armed with this thought process and a trusty bucket list- Jen sets out to rock her bucket list and relish each crossing off the list moment.

Will she make mistakes? Sure. But Jen won’t live with regrets.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

Reading a Jen Lancaster book is something that everyone must experience. While I still stand by the fact that Bitter is the New Black and Bright Lights, Big Ass are her best books- I usually find myself reading her latest memoir books for a laugh and even a dose of reality- because while Jen can bring the funny- located in the center of the rant, the snarky, the etc- there are life truths.

In I REGRET NOTHING- Jen starts to see the bad side of regret. And sure we all see it- but how many of us go out and do something about it? Not that many. So, Jen does and she writes her stories- the 5k experience, her personal EAT PRAY LOVE moment, and much more.

I like Jen’s ways of telling a story- she’s the friend who would tell you straight up things- and that is honest and refreshing.  Having read many of her books- I can see the growth from the first book- her attitudes about everything to how she’s changed her ways, her lifestyle and more.

Thoughts about the book:

• The Cover: LOVED
• The Rants: Jen and her talk of social media is not ground-breaking and yet I understood why she talked so much about it. It can be so easy to post something and it get misconstrued and Jen is well aware of that fact. Is she creeping into “get off my lawn” territory? Maybe. And that’s ok. Jen’s growing up!
• The Sidebar issue: I had an ARC to read so I noticed the use of the word sidebar in my book. Not knowing if this is a new way to combat the difficulties of her previous use of footnotes in e-book editions or if this was a quirk of having an early ARC- it did not bother me. However, I can see how it might would bother some if the finished books are like that.

 

If you are a Jen Lancaster fan- then I REGRET NOTHING will be your brain candy for the month of May. A quick read and a good  bookish palate cleanser. If you are new to Jen Lancaster, I strongly urge you to start with the first 2 books- as they are still my favorites and are ones I re-read when needing a laugh.
