The Marriage Charm
Melody is happy. One of her best friends, Hadleigh, has just gotten married to the love of her life and her jewelry business is beginning to become quite successful.
But Melody is a bit unsettled. She wants things- a husband, children, the type of life she’s always imagined. Is Melody’s life bad? No, not even. She has a cute place, 3 cats, a successful business and 2 best friends. But, she longs for more.
Spence, the local chief of police, is a gorgeous single man. Nothing scares him. Well, nothing scares him but love. He and Melody had an intense relationship years earlier and he broke her heart. Since then, the town rumors are that Spence hangs his hat on many bed posts- but whether that is the truth or just gossip, Spence is not revealing.
When Melody and Spence see each other at Hadleigh and Tripp’s wedding (their respective best friends)- a spark is lit. Melody still finds him to be attractive and wonderful- and he still has fond feelings for Melody. The problem is that neither one wants to admit it, both have grown used to being the boss of their own life, and each has a past hurt that makes it hard to reach out to the other.
But you can’t deny love- and the more Melody and Spence try to fight it- the more it becomes apparent they are perfect for each other. And maybe with a little help from their friends and a few others- they will realize it. And each find the thing that is missing from their lives.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
THE MARRIAGE CHARM is adorable. Spence and Melody have the cute charm that make reading a romance so enjoyable.
Linda Lael Miller throws in a little mystery with this book- and it adds flavor to the storyline.
With generous doses of a down-home feeling story (thanks to the cast of characters that Linda Lael Miller adores writing about) THE MARRIAGE CHARM was sweet and enjoyable. A story that I could sit down with and read- and just enjoy.
Looking for a sweet romance with characters you can care about? Try THE MARRIAGE CHARM.
