The Homecoming

Seth Sileski was the pride and joy of Thunder Point back when he was a football legend. Then one mistake, one accident- changed all that. Took Seth’s football playing days away- made him have to really look life in the face and do some changing.

Seth is happy with life now. He’s working in the police department in Thunder Point- and determined to show his dad, the town on Thunder Point….. and most especially- a young lady that he has changed. He’s not the same person he was years ago. Life may not be what he pictured; but it’s definitely not bad.

Shortly after he arrives back in Thunder Point, Seth sees Iris. Iris is the young lady that he needs to prove he’s changed. Back in the day- Iris and Seth were best friends- and neighbors. They did things together. Had fun together. Then, a misunderstanding about prom happened- and Iris realized that being friends with Seth was too hard for her- since she had feelings for him. Seth, being a guy, was clueless about the feelings- and thought he and Iris were just great friends.

Now that he’s back in town- he wants to fix things with Iris, fix things with his dad, and just be the best version of Seth possible.

Possible problems: Iris is still being cool toward him, while his ex-girlfriend, Sassy, is wanting to warm things back up with them.

When Iris, in her role as a guidance counselor, is approached by a teacher at the school who is suspicious of a student’s bruises and “accidents”, Iris and Seth find themselves working close together to find out what is happening to the girl- is it someone in her family? Or could someone else be hurting this girl?

Spending time together, Iris and Seth began to reconnect- and understand each other. But, will Iris ever truly trust Seth after he broke her heart so many years ago?

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

THE HOMECOMING is Book 6 in the Thunder Point series (but is my first read). Not being familiar with Robyn’s series, but enjoying one of her stand-alone books (FOUR FRIENDS), I accepted THE HOMECOMING for review consideration.

What I liked: I loved the setting of Thunder Point. I loved how Seth wanted to come back to Thunder Point and show everyone that he had changed, he was a good man. I loved how Seth did not obsess over the night that his life changed- he could have been written as a one-dimensional character- and Robyn took care with him.

What I didn’t love: Iris was hurt about Seth- and for awhile- it was almost hard to understand why she was holding on to the grudge and bad feelings- but, once it was revealed- totally understandable. While Robyn nailed the feelings that Iris felt- I do wish she would have clued us in just a bit earlier.

Overall, if you enjoy Robyn Carr books- then THE HOMECOMING will be right up your alley!
