She Didn’t See It Coming
Summary: When a beloved wife and mother disappears, a luxurious condo building transforms into a potential crime scene, and the investigation begins: can the detectives find her before it’s too late?
Bryden and Sam have it all: thriving careers, a smart apartment in a luxury condominium, supportive friends and a cherished daughter. The perfect life for the perfect couple.
Then Sam receives a call at his office. Bryden—working from home that day—has failed to collect their daughter from daycare. Arriving home with their little girl, he finds his wife’s car in the underground garage. Upstairs in their apartment her laptop is open on the table, her cell phone nearby, her keys in their usual place in the hall.
Except Bryden is nowhere to be seen. It’s as if she just walked out.
Traveling With T’s Thoughts:
I mostly listen to Shari Lapena books on audio and pretty much as soon as she posts about her book being available for preorder, I just go ahead and order as a future gift to myself.
I LOVED the premise of the book. A missing woman that appears to not have left the building- ooh yes!
This book has a large cast and honestly- all of them have done some time on the sketchy side. Each person has a believable motive and there are plenty of red herrings to keep you guessing. Even more.. with the large cast and their reasons to want Bryden out of the way… we get to dive deep into some characters and there are def a couple that I wanted it to be them SO bad because I couldn’t stand them.
What I liked:
The cover is pretty great!
January Lavoy’s narration. No trouble distinguishing between characters and I loved how she really made each character shine (well some in a bad way!)
The ending. YES!
Bottom line: I want to see this made into a movie. And am seriously counting down the days till the next Shari Lapena book.
