Keith and I recently went to Orange Beach, AL. It’s a 5-ish hour trip from the house and while the ocean water is not beautiful like the Bahamas, the beach is nice. And I can drink Bushwhackers!
We had dinner at Bubba’s, Cobalt, Zeke’s , Tacky Jack’s, and a few other places! When we are on the beach, we love to eat seafood so we definitely indulged in that.
At our condo, Phoenix 5, I rented beach chairs for the week because there is nothing more relaxing to me than sitting on the beach.
We drove down on Friday and after stopping at Felix’s for the best fish tacos (so yummy!) we headed to Orange Beach. The plan was that we would get Papa John’s pizza that night delivered to our condo since we had such a yummy lunch and we would spend the rest of the night unpacking, picking up food for the week, and then I was planning on swimming a bit and sitting on the balcony watching and listening to the waves crashing.
Saturday, BEACH DAY! Pretty much every day was a beach day. I loved sitting on the beach, watching the dolphins play, walking up and down the beach, collecting seashells.
And every time we ate out, I enjoyed a Bushwhacker. They are the BEST drinks. Everyone has a favorite restaurant to get a Bushwhacker at, and while I enjoyed them at many places- my fave place is still Bubba’s Seafood. My least fave place was Tacky Jack’s.
On Tuesday, we went on a Dolphin Cruise and that was nice and fun. We saw a couple of pods of dolphins and I loved that!
Wednesday, I went parasailing. Now my husband is many wonderful things, but he is not a parasailer. And several places only let you parasail tandem style. But I usually like to get a photo package so I really don’t want to parasail with others. Orange Beach Parasail still does single parasail and I absolutely LOVED being up there.
After parasailing, we ate lunch in town. And then because I had lost some beach time, we decided to do another night of Papa John’s pizza so I could enjoy a longer day on the beach and in pool.
I read a ton on the beach. I finished Inheritance (had about 40 pages left) and read both The Rom-Commers and House of Glass that week.
A full moon happened that week and I loved it so much. It was beautiful.
And lastly, we ended (and began) our trip with a stop at Buc-ees. I love going there. It has EVERYTHING.
All in all, it was a fantastic week. And man oh man, I NEEDED a week away from work. A week to connect with hubby.
QOTD: Have you ever visited Orange Beach or Gulf Shores? And if you have, where is your favorite place to get a Bushwhacker?
