What Have You Done?

Summary: The new binge-worthy novel from the “queen of the one-sit read,” and New York Times bestselling author of The Couple Next Door

Nothing ever happens in sleepy little Fairhill, Vermont. But this morning that will change. And one innocent question could be deadly. What have you done?

The teenagers get their kicks telling ghost stories in the old graveyard. The parents trust their kids will arrive home safe from school. Everyone knows everyone. Curtains rarely twitch. Front doors are left unlocked.

But Diana Brewer isn’t lying safely in her bed where she belongs. Instead she lies in a hayfield, circled by vultures, discovered by a local farmer.

How quickly a girl becomes a ghost. How quickly a town of friendly, familiar faces becomes a town of suspects, a place of fear and paranoia.

Someone in Fairhill did this. Everyone wants answers.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

I have been a fan of Shari Lapena’s for some time. Her books just have good characters and twists that I love. I’ve also been lately listening to her books on audio and I’ve been enjoying that experience as well.

What Have You Done? is a bit different than her normal type of books because we are hearing from the murder victim. I liked that, though, because it gave the book a little extra.

What I Liked:

The cover ties into the book nicely.

The large cast of characters (and suspects!) Sometimes large casts don’t work for me because it’s a lot to remember, but when many people have secrets (and red herrings) it can work.

The ending. I thought I knew how it was going to end, but there was a surprise or 2.

Bottom line: January LaVoy did a great job narrating this book and I enjoyed it. My finger is already itching to preorder Shari Lapena’s next book!
