12 Books You Should Read By Labor Day Weekend

Ya’ll, if you’ve read my blog for even like one day- you know that I’m pretty much a certifiable summer junkie. My husband knew the deal with me when he started dating me- that from Memorial Day to about 2 weeks after Labor Day, my weekends were spent with the pool and he could come swim, but he was NOT to mess up the vibe (relaxing, listening to my Pandora station, and indulging in an adult beverage when I feel like it!)

And books! We can’t forget the books. I did the hard work for you this summer and found 12 that you should def try to read by Labor Day Weekend 🙂

For the summer lovers:

A Happier Life by Kristy Woodson Harvey.

Ya’ll this book is everything. KWH does it again. It made me happy. It made me wish I could be invited to a Becca St. James party. It made me want Salt. And pack my bags and move to Beaufort.

Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews

With a cover that just screams “read me at the pool/beach” Summers at the Saint is classic MKA. There is some romance. A mystery. Characters you can root for and characters you would love to see take the long walk off a short cliff.

The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center

Filled with hope, brimming with laugh out loud lines, The Rom-Commers dissects the rom-com. Throw in a few tropes (enemies to friends) and you have a book that made me want to hug main character (Emma) so much!

The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren

STEAMY. Gorgeous cover! Must read!

Funny Story by Emily Henry

Characters I loved. A town I want to live in. Julia Whelan narrating the audiobook. 2 Thumbs up!

Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand

After multiple books, the Queen of Summer takes her final bow. Swan Song has a little of everything for fans of Elin and while I didn’t love the ending, I still recommend reading it.

For the mystery lovers:

The Paris Widow by Kimberly Belle

Cat and mouse thriller that takes you through the streets of Paris where we watch our main character learn about her husband and who she should trust.

The Last Time She Saw Him by Kate White

A few red herrings, but our main character Kiki is determined to solve the mystery.

The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine

Amber is back and more wicked than ever! A fun soapy mystery that you can read in a couple of days.

Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera

A podcast helps lure a girl back to town- where she can’t remember if she killed her friend or not. Fun book. Loved the podcast angle!

First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston

A great con story!

Daughter of Mine by Megan Miranda

A drought brings up questions from 10+ years ago about a mother- did she run off on her own or did something else happen?

Well, here it is. The 12 books you should be reading by Labor Day weekend. See any you want to read? Any you have read?
