Yesterday, June 20, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Katherine Center at Off Square Books in Oxford, MS.
My friend, Reeca, met me in Oxford and boy- did I have to move the world to make this happen but I’ve been dying to go to a book event for months especially since I missed Ashley Elston at Thacker Mountain Radio. So I moved the world and told everyone to hold on to their issues because this gal was going to a much needed bookish fun evening!
I met Reeca at Venice Kitchen and she had already ordered (and paid for!) a glass of wine and hoo-boy, after all the juggling of the day, I needed it. So we sipped wine and caught up, then she headed to the signing to get us great seats and I went to get my book.
First, the edges of the pages are spray-painted pink which I am LOVING (it’s the little things!) I also ADORE the cover!
It should be known that many years ago, back in 2013, I had the opportunity to interview Katherine Center via email and I dug through the old archives of Traveling With T to show this 2 part interview! Interview with Katherine Center, author of The Lost Husband and Author Spotlight: Katherine Center. I hope you will take a minute to read them!
But back to the signing. Reeca and I had a great time, I met a fellow bookworm (@hannahjuliff ) and snapped some photos of Katherine Center when I wasn’t laughing or taking notes!
Katherine talked about her start as a writer when she was in 6th grade, writing fan fiction about Duran Duran, Josh Duhamel, some tidbits about her next book and when I asked about if The Bodyguard was possibly being made into a movie- well, she was very coy and said she could not comment so….. FINGERS CROSSED.
She also said this and if someone does not make this into a shirt or sticker- well we’re missing out! “I also want someone to take their shirt off.”- Katherine Center, Off Square Books, 6.20.24
All in all, it was a GREAT night and I was so excited to get to meet Katherine Center!
*Clearly you can tell I have ZERO chill when it comes to meeting authors!
Also on the way home, this is one of the songs that came on the radio and I laughed and laughed!
*What is your fave Katherine Center book?*
Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,
T @ Traveling With T
So cool!
What a fun event! I think my favorite is The Rom Commers. A close second is Things You Save in a Fire.
