Hey darlings!
So you know that She Reads has changed the format and instead of choosing 1 book per month to read- they are doing 4 for 3 months! And calling it She Reads Books of Fall!
The good part of this is that we have much time to read, to get excited, to even fangirl over these books! Which is all happy dance and smiles all around in my book!
The 4 books for The Books of Fall are: THE HOUSE WE GREW UP IN by Lisa Jewell, THE DISTANCE by Helen Giltrow, THE SILENT SISTER by Diane Chamberlain, and THE WIFE, THE MAID, AND THE MISTRESS by Ariel Lawhon.
“But wait, T, wasn’t THE WIFE, THE MAID, and THE MISTRESS an earlier 2014 selection for She Reads?” That’s right, darling readers- you are so super-smart! It was! But, because it’s got a gorgeous new cover for it’s paperback release- it was an additional selection- to give the months a bit more bang for it’s buck!
So, now that you know all that- I’m going to link back to my review of THE WIFE, THE MAID, and THE MISTRESS for your reading pleasure. Traveling With T was also lucky to get an Author Interview: Ariel Lawhon and Author Spotlight: Ariel Lawhon, author of The Wife, The Maid, and The Mistress.
And now… before I go…let me ask you an important question:
Which Book Cover Do You Prefer?
Happy Reading and Bookishly Yours,
T @ Traveling With T
I love the new format for She Reads! I loved Ariel Lawhon’s book and was blown away at all the historical fact that was interwoven throughout. While I like both covers, I prefer her latest book cover. The colors are so vibrant and the title fits the story so well:)
I love the new format too (plus the fact that it gives us more time to read!) I totally agree about the historical facts! I’m so torn- I LOVE both covers.
I prefer the original cover. While it is less colorful and a bit plain, it has a vintage look to it that I like.
I completely understand your take- the original does have the vintage feel which fits in the theme of politics, corruption, speakeasies and show girls!
I absolutely loved this book! It was the first book of 2014 that I really loved and, now that the year is almost over, it’s still one of my top books of the year! I heard she’s working on another book, so I can’t wait to see what she does.
Me too! Plus, b/c of She Reads, I had been hearing about this book for almost a year prior to release- so my excitement levels for this book was really ramped up! She is working on a new book- and I think we are all excited to get our hands on it!
Both are gorgeous, but I love the new one!
π π The new one def has that festive vibe- and that blue color is very eyecatching!
I LOVED this book! I don’t when I read it but I hope she writes more!! I really like this new cover. I think it’s fun & it still has a little vintage look to it. IMO
It was SUCH a good book! I loved it and love both covers so much!
I’m with Amanda – I loved the vintage feel of the original π
Oh yes! Really- I just want them both- so I can sit and admire both of the covers π
